United Kingdom plans to increase ETA fee

The British government intends to increase the fee for the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) from the current £16 to £20 (approximately €23).
The ETA has been mandatory since 2023 for travellers from visa-exempt countries and is part of the ongoing digitalisation and standardisation of UK border procedures.
The proposed new fee is still subject to approval by Parliament. The ETA will remain valid for two years and can be used for multiple entries during that period.
