Qatar Airways equips Boeing 777 with Starlink

On October 22, 2024, Qatar Airways launched the future of in-flight connectivity with the first Boeing 777 flight from Doha to London. As the first airline in the MENA region, Qatar Airways offers its passengers ultra-fast, free internet via Starlink.
By the end of 2024, twelve Boeing 777-300 aircraft will be equipped with this innovative service. The entire Boeing 777 fleet will be upgraded by 2025, with the Airbus A350 fleet following in the summer of 2025.
Starlink, developed by SpaceX, is the world’s first and largest satellite constellation in low Earth orbit, providing passengers at 10,700 meters with reliable, high-speed internet access. The service is free and accessible with a simple one-click connection.
This partnership marks several industry firsts for Qatar Airways:
• The world’s first Boeing 777 widebody equipped with Starlink
• The first Starlink installation on a Qatar Airways passenger aircraft
• The first Starlink-equipped passenger aircraft in the MENA region
• The first Starlink Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for a Boeing aircraft
• The largest passenger aircraft equipped with Starlink
• The passenger aircraft with the longest range equipped with Starlink
This initiative highlights Qatar Airways’ commitment to providing and enhancing an unparalleled flying experience for its passengers.
