Change of seat category during online check-in only possible for a fee

Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, and SWISS passengers will automatically be assigned a seat during online check-in across all travel classes.
Since September 2024 changing the seat category during online check-in will only be possible against a fee.
Selecting a classic seat free of charge during online check-in is depending the booked fare.
HON Circle Members and Senators can change their seats free of charge, exceptions may apply.
Families with children, group travelers, and passengers traveling on the same PNR will continue to be seated together whenever possible.
Passengers who have already booked a seat in advance can still change it for free within the booked seat category during check-in.
